About
Vermont Studio Center (VSC) in Johnson, Vermont, hosts artists and writers from around the world for residencies of two, three or four weeks. Applications are reviewed by a rotating jury of practising artists and writers; every accepted resident receives at least a partial fellowship and roughly 35 per cent receive full fellowships. Applicants not awarded a fellowship may still be offered admission.
VSC runs two general application windows each year, 15 February to 31 March and 15 August to 30 September, plus a 'Vermont Week' window from 15 December to 31 January. The autumn 2026 window (which filled residencies from July to December 2027) has closed; the next general window opens 15 February 2027.
