About
Two Together is a residency programme at the historic Porthmeor Studios in St Ives, run by the Borlase Smart John Wells Trust in partnership with Freelands Foundation's Artist Development Team. Studio-based visual artists from Devon or Cornwall apply in collaboration with a UK-based artist from outside the region; both should have around five to ten years of professional practice since graduating. Selected pairs share Studio 5 at Porthmeor and accommodation in St Ives, receive a £2,000 stipend each plus travel expenses, and are supported by Porthmeor and Freelands staff, with no fixed outcome required.
For the 2025 edition, applications closed at 5pm on 9 February 2025 for residency blocks in June, September or November 2025; a 2026 call followed and the programme is described as annual. Open calls are announced on the Freelands Foundation website, the Porthmeor Studios newsletter and Instagram.
