About
Travel Photographer of the Year is an annual international awards programme open to amateur and professional photographers alike. The 2026 awards comprise four portfolio categories (Adventures & Journeys; Cultures, Traditions & Celebrations; Landscapes – Natural & Urban; Wildlife, Sealife, Birdlife), four One Shot categories (In Nature; People of the World; Street; Travel in Black & White), a Rising Talent award, Young Travel Photographer of the Year (14 and under, 15–18) and special awards including Image of the Year and People's Choice.
Entries opened on 30 April 2026 and close on 12 October 2026. Fees are £14 per One Shot image, £28 per four-image portfolio and £30 for Rising Talent, with bundle options; Young TPOTY is free. A 10% early-bird discount applied until 1 July and a £99 TPOTY Pass offered unlimited entries until mid-July. The overall title requires at least two portfolios and entrants aged 19+.
Finalists are announced on 21 November 2026, People's Choice voting runs 20 December 2026–10 January 2027, and winners are announced on 17 January 2027. Prizes include cash, imaging software and more, with amounts not stated on the pages read.
