About
Schack Art Center in Everett, Washington, invites artists living and working in the Pacific Northwest to submit work for The Food We Share, its 2027 Arts Education in Action exhibition. The show explores food in its many dimensions: culture, family, connection, creativity, recipes, ritual, aesthetics, agriculture, nutrition, nostalgia, insecurity, comfort and entertainment.
All 2D and 3D media are welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, furniture, printmaking, fiber, glass, photography and video; installation proposals are encouraged, though work made of actual food is discouraged. Work must be original, gallery-ready, not previously exhibited at Schack, available for the full run and for sale (Schack retains a 40% commission).
Artists may submit up to six pieces for a flat $5 fee. Submissions close Sunday 24 January 2027 at 11:59pm, with notifications on or before 3 February 2027. Accepted work is delivered on 11 March 2027; the exhibition runs 25 March to 22 May 2027 with an opening reception on 25 March.
