About
The Fondation François Schneider's Talents Contemporains competition rewards artworks that fundamentally relate to water. It is open to visual artists of all nationalities who are of legal age, with a professional background and at least five years of exhibition history; emerging and established artists and art school graduates may apply individually or as collectives.
Eligible disciplines include painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, video, textile art and other visual arts; performing arts and music are excluded. Finalists are announced in March 2027 and laureates in May/June 2027 by an international jury chaired by Jean-Noël Jeanneney.
Each laureate receives €15,000 (€8,000 for photographic or video editions), with production budgets of up to €50,000 for sculpture and installation projects. Winning works enter the Foundation's collection and are shown in a group exhibition at the Wattwiller art centre in autumn 2027, with a bilingual publication and video portrait.
