About
The RBC Award for Glass is presented annually by the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery in Waterloo, Ontario, with the support of RBC. The gallery describes it as the only national award for emerging glass artists in Canada; it enables practising early-career glass artists to undertake a period of independent research or other activities that advance their artistic and professional practice.
The winner receives $10,000, the runner-up $5,000 and up to three finalists $1,000 each ($18,000 in total). Winners and finalists are featured in the annual 'Emergence' exhibition alongside the Winifred Shantz Award for Ceramics; the 2026 winner was Laura Hudspith (Montréal) and the 2026 exhibition ran 23 May to 15 August 2026.
The 2027 call has not yet been posted; recent calls have closed in late January with notification in early March.
