About
The Prix de Rome is the oldest Dutch prize for visual artists under 40, organised on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and financed by the Mondriaan Fund (the architecture strand is run separately by the Creative Industries Fund).
It is for talented visual artists from the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. Shortlisted artists receive a work budget to make new work for a group exhibition; the 2025 shortlist showed at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam until 15 March 2026.
The winner receives EUR 60,000 to use freely (the former residency component has been replaced by the higher cash prize). Kevin Osepa won the 2025 edition on 17 December 2025.
