About
The McKnight Visual Artist Fellowships, administered by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), award $25,000 each year to six mid-career Minnesota visual artists. Beyond the cash award, fellows receive professional documentation of their work, access to MCAD facilities, discounted continuing-education classes, eight hours of consultation with Springboard for the Arts and a residency through the Alliance of Artist Communities.
The programme is aimed at artists beyond the emerging stage who have a sustained record of practice in Minnesota. The 2027 application cycle opens in late January 2027; the 2026 cycle closed on 20 March 2026.
Applications are made online through MCAD's Submittable portal.
