About
Illustrators 69 is the Society of Illustrators' annual juried competition and exhibition. It is open to professional artists worldwide for illustrations and animations created or published between October 2025 and October 2026. Work using AI in any capacity is not eligible, and previously entered work is not accepted. Submission and judging are fully remote.
Categories cover commissioned work (Advertising, Book, Institutional, Editorial) and self-driven work (Surface Design, Product Design, Animation, Uncommissioned). Entries are JPEG or GIF files of 1–10MB. Non-member fees are $40 per single image and $80 per five-image series ($5 per additional image); members pay $20 and $50. Accepted entries pay a $95 hanging/publishing fee ($80 for members). The SI Giveback Fund covers one entry fee for artists with limited resources.
The deadline is 16 October 2026, 11:59pm EST. Around 400 works are selected for two exhibitions at the Museum of Illustration, each with a reception, with Gold and Silver Medals awarded in each category and publication in the Illustrators Annual. The award ceremony is in spring 2027.
