About
GroundWork Gallery in King's Lynn, Norfolk invites submissions for 'Heat', its Spring 2027 exhibition (12 March – 5 June 2027). The exhibition treats heat as a physical force, a climate signal and an industrial necessity, addressing climate change, inequality, industry, transformation and human and environmental impact. Up to 12 artists will be selected.
The call is open to all, though the gallery may not be able to cover transport costs for works from outside the UK. Media include painting, sculpture, photography, print, film, installation, ceramics, live art, movement, dance and textiles. Maximum work size is 2 metres.
Applications are made exclusively via CuratorSpace with a 250-word statement, biography and images of up to five works, for a £10 submission fee. Deadline Sunday 29 November 2026. The Tom Burke Heat Prize of £500 is awarded to the work best responding to the question of connecting personal experience of heat to the planet's.
