About
Each year Houston Center for Photography (HCP) invites a writer, critic or curator to select two artists from open submissions for its Fellowship Awards. The Carol Crow Memorial Fellowship goes to an artist residing within 100 miles of Houston, and the HCP Fellowship to an artist from anywhere in the world. Each receives $3,000 and a solo exhibition at HCP; the 2026 exhibitions open in early November 2026. The 2026 juror is Natasha Egan of the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago.
Applicants submit up to ten images or videos via Submittable and must hold an HCP Fellowship-level membership ($35) at the time of entry. The 2026 deadline was 19 July 2026. Past recipients, staff and board are ineligible.
The call runs annually; the 2027 round is expected to open in spring 2027.
