About
FabrianoInAcquarello is an inclusive, non-competitive annual international watercolour congress organised by the InArte cultural association in Fabriano, Italy. Any artist in the world may open a profile and upload one painting to the free online platform exhibition, from which country leaders and thematic group leaders select artists for the physical exhibitions and catalogues of the April meeting.
For 2026, uploads were accepted from 31 October 2025 to 9 January 2026 at internationalwatercolormuseum.com/platform, with the list of selected artists published from 16 January 2026. Works must be watercolour on paper in the strict half-sheet format of 56 x 38 cm; copies of other artists' or published images are not allowed. Participation in the online exhibition and selection is free worldwide.
The 2026 congress took place in Bologna on 21–23 April and in Fabriano on 24–26 April 2026, followed by a painting holiday to 4 May. The congress is open to all artists, not only those selected. The cycle repeats each year, with the 2027 platform expected to open in autumn 2026.
