About
Samson Arts Gloucester, run by LJ Ellam, invites artists local to Gloucestershire to submit work describing their connection to the county and its aquatic life, and any feelings of loss or deficit, for DREDGE, a collective exhibition at The Gate Art Space, Westgate Street, Gloucester. Visual media, photography, video, sculpture and installation are welcome, and eco-friendly or recycled works are encouraged. No prior art experience is necessary.
Artists may submit up to three pieces with up to two images each, a short statement relating the work to the theme, finished dimensions and display specifications. Works may be no larger than 1000 x 1000 x 800 mm and wall-hung works no heavier than 8 kg. Applying is free with a £10 administration fee.
The exhibition runs 8 to 13 December 2026 with a private view on 7 December. Artists are asked to help install on 7 December, to cover at least one stewarding shift and ideally to attend the opening.
