About
The Craigs Aspiring Art Prize is an annual award and exhibition organised by Holy Family Catholic School in Wanaka. Entry is open to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents aged 18 or over for two-dimensional painting, drawing and printmaking; photography, digital art and sculpture are excluded. Works must be original, never exhibited before, available for purchase and no larger than 1200 x 1200mm.
Entries open 1 October 2026 and close 1 November 2026 at 5pm, with a $30 fee plus booking fee. Selected artists are confirmed by 1 December 2026. The opening night is 8 January 2027, followed by a three-day public exhibition 9–11 January at the school, 152 Aubrey Road, Wanaka.
Prizes are a $20,000 Supreme acquisition prize, $5,000 runner-up, $2,000 Best Landscape, $1,000 Best Work Under $1,000 and $1,000 People's Choice.
