About
Beam Center seeks design proposals for an ambitious public artwork to be realised through collaboration between youth, Beam Camp staff and the selected proposer. Beam Camp is a summer camp for building and collaboration in Strafford, New Hampshire; its Project Team works with the winning designers to translate their vision into a construction built by around 100 campers and 20 or more staff during summer 2027.
Proposals are welcome from artists, engineers, architects, builders, filmmakers, musicians, designers and technologists worldwide, individually or with co-designers. The selected proposer receives a USD 5,000 award and an approximately USD 15,000 fabrication budget, with travel expenses to attend camp reimbursed. They must join bi-weekly meetings from six months before completion and supply plans per the development schedule.
